Happy Halloween

Just a little treat bag topper I whipped up for my daughter's friend.  The stamps are from Unity's Trick or Treat Peeps and Distressed Spider Dance.  I hope everyone has something fun planned for Halloween!

HIP HOP HANGOVER

Yesterday was HIP HOP Thursday on the SCS Unity Forum and it is such a fun time.  I made this treat jar for the Sweet Treats Challenge yesterday and was so excited that it helped me to win this cute Tinkering Ink/Unity Prize pack!

There were so many great new releases and deals yesterday, as ALWAYS, at Unity.  If you didn't see them yet, go to the Unity blog HERE and feast your eyes on some cute rubber. My favorite new release is the Trinity Trio. There are links on the Unity blog to all the ladies who have hip hop hangovers today too.  Also, Angela showed us the November Kit of the Month, it's a must have!

I'm going to try to get at least one more unity project posted today before pumpkin carving and trick or treating in out little downtown area.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Under Construction!

For some reason my husband decided to revamp my blog, or start to anyway, out of the blue today.  So it might look a little off for a while.

In the meantime, it's HIP HOP THURSDAY!

Go to Angela's Unity Blog HERE

and the SCS Forum HERE

HAVE FUN!!

Fall Grove

Here is the card I made using Amber's Monday Card Sketch found on the Unity Forum on SCS, HERE.
I used my new Giggle Grove Unity Stamps and some cute fall paper I found in the Target Dollar Spot, I miss Target!

They are 98% done!

I can almost get back to my paper crafting, since the girls costumes are so close to being finished.  I'm sure some of you won't know what they are, even with them being done! lol
They are from the Nintendo Game Dr. Mario. (see pic, there is a new version on the Wii as well)
My older daughter is the blue virus. She isn't too thrilled about her costume, but she isn't a fan of clowns, masks, or anything along those lines.

My baby girls seemed more than happy being a red and yellow "pill".

I'm jealous...

of all the wonderful Unity cards that are being created from the CPS blog today.  I told myself there will be no stamping, card making, or scrapbooking until the girls halloween costumes are done and ready to wear.  (Good thing I didn't include blog hopping or posting!)

here is a picture of what I have so far....
Anyone who doesn't know my family want to take a guess at what it could be???

Also here is a link to Ryann's blog The Inked Spot.  She will be giving away some yummy blog candy on friday! Check it out, her cards are always so adorable.  Become a follower of her blog, it's great inspiration!

Shimmerz Blog Candy

Go HERE for your chance to win the 5 new colors of shimmerz that will be coming out November 1st!

Yesterday's Scrapbook Pages

Here are the two pages that I completed yesterday.

I used a Ki Memories Pop Culture paper and lace cardstock.  I've never worked with lace cardstock before, and I really like the way it looks.  I used a CTMH ticket tags stamp for the journaling and the cute little crowns are from Unity's Love is Toxic kit.

I was playing peek-a-boo with my little girl this morning, and thought that it was too cute not to post!

Thanks for looking.  This weekend I have to focus on Halloween costume making!

More Fabulous Mail!

HAPPY FRIDAY TO ME!  I went out to get the mail and I knew it was going to be good when I saw a package from my dear friend Gina.  Here is what she sent me....

Isn't it so cute!  I must have know it was coming, since I'm working on scraping the photos from that same visit.  Thank you Gina, I LOVE it!

Quick Post, Then Off to Scrap!

I'm a little out of the Unity loop this week.  I didn't get to hip hop much yesterday and found no time for the challenges either. :(  Instead I spend two hours at the dentist! (I bet you can't guess what I would have rather been doing)

Here is a layout that has been waiting to be finished for a while, so I thought I would share that and then go start on something new.

Also if you haven't heard about this AWESOME  giveaway at Cosmo Cricket, please check it out.  If you want you can leave a comment saying Jenn C. sent you, it would be greatly appreciated!  CLICK HERE

A quick post for.....

Everyone's favorite no calorie treat, BLOG CANDY!

It can be found here on the Scrapping Away Blog.

Also there will be some Unity Blog Candy on Misc. Michelle this Friday. Check it out all week though, she is doing one Unity project a day.

Ok, I am off to play Wii Fii (have to exercise somehow) and then back to stamping!

Potty Chart

I stayed up late last night to make a Potty Chart for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I made it on a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock so I can add it to her scrapbook later. To make a long story short, she was basically potty trained way back in July but decided to change her mind and revert back to using diapers instead. It has been driving me crazy, so I decided to take a new approach on the issue.

The 8x8 grid is on vellum so that stickers will easily be able to go on and off. The stamped images (from Unity's Mix Up Of Cuteness and Whimsical Birthday) are incentives for her to reach her goal of staying dry. The big pay off is the whale stamp, which represents a trip to the indoor swimming pool. She has been dying to go swimming ever since we went a few months ago , so I'm hoping that this chart will payoff. So far today, she has 3 stickers, and a dry pull-up!

Here is the chart hanging on the fridge with her cat stickers ready to go right next to it!

2 Hours 2 Spare!

I said I would make a card today and I DID!  It took me until 10:00 at night to do it, but it's done! I actually made three cards that are all similar, but I'm only going to post the best one (or what I think is the best one).  I made this card using Amber's Card Sketch Challenge.  You can find it on SCS by clicking HERE!  You have until Sunday at noon to participate in this challenge, so there is plenty of time to come and play.

I used French Vanilla and Mocha Divine Bazzill Cardstock, CTMH Serendipity paper collection, CTMH Chocolate Ink, CTMH Chocolate Eyelets, and of course Unity's August KOTM Stamps.

I had to add the tiny pink button to this card for the friend I am going to send it to.  It would be returned if I sent her something without pink on it!  ( Love YA! )

It's Good to be HOME!

We had a great weekend visiting with family we haven't seen in way too long, but it is nice to be home.  (my girls didn't sleep well there)  I did get WIFI this weekend, two years ago they didn't own a computer,  so I was able to keep up on some blog posts and SCS.  Good thing, cause there was lots to look at! I'm aiming to get at least one card made today and will try to post it later.

Here I am with Alice at the Big Obsidian Flow near La Pine, Oregon.  Happy Monday!

When it comes I want to wail, MAIL!!!!!!

Just a quick post to show my unity goodies from last hip hop that showed up today!  (Whimsical Birthday and Forever Friends)
It makes me even more anxious for my package to arrive next week! hehe

Hip Hop Hangover!

It's the day after HIP HOP Thursdays and everyone is still in a (tired) party mode.  Angela, the wonderfully generous and sweet owner of the Unity Stamp Company, has decided to start a new tradition for Fridays on the company blog.  HERE Check it out to see some of the wonderful creations that came from Unity supporters and also a list of blogs that have more posts about yesterday's HIP HOP!

I'm super excited I was lucky enough to win Distressed Spider Dance yesterday!  (Click on the name to see it.)  I have been wanting that one for Halloween journaling since it was released a couple weeks ago.

I didn't get any of yesterday's challenges done (my dining room table, aka stamp area, is clean and I didn't want to get it messy before leaving this weekend) so I will post a couple of  Unity cards I've made in the past.

On a side note, we are off to Central Oregon this weekend, and I don't know if we will have WIFI or not.  (How will I survive?) So this may be my last post until next week.

Flowers in a Gourd

When I saw this idea in an email from Better Homes and Garden, I knew I wanted to try it out.  Basically you are just using a fresh gourd as a flower vase, BRILLIANT!  I picked up my gourd at the pumpkin patch this weekend (I am now wishing I had picked up more than one).  Then my next step was flowers. When my husband and I would vacation to Astoria and surrounding areas we would always see TONS of little flower stands on the side of the road and in front of peoples homes. Most of them never had any flowers, and we had NO clue what they were for.  Well, now that I live here, I LOVE THEM!  The owners of the stand pick and arrange beautiful flowers they grow on their property and place them in the stands to sell to people like me (who kill everything).  The best part is that they are so lovely and only cost $2! Next I cut off the top of my gourd and used a knife and wooden takeout chopstick to hollow out the middle of the gourd to make room for the flower stems.  Place a little bit of water in the gourd, arrange flowers, and your done!  Super fast and super cute!  This little gourd of flowers found a new home at my friend Summer's house with a thank you card for watching our home a couple weeks ago.  (It got a cute little ribbon tied around it too, but I forgot to take a new pic)

Anyone have any other fast and easy fall ideas? Leave a comment below :)

It's also HIP HOP THURSDAY!  Go HERE to the UNITY STAMP CO BLOG to see what it is all about!

Ladies Unity Challenge for Today

The challenge this week was to make a masculine card.  I'm not sure if mine is all that masculine, maybe more androgynous.

I think I was jealous that my husband got to ink up my Trick or Treat Peeps before I did, that's why I HAD to use them for my card today. I also used black, orange and white cardstock, CTMH Black and Petal Inks, and some Target ribbon.  The font is CTMH Storytime Lowercase.

Go here to see what the other ladies came up with...

Nick and the Finished Product

My Husband, Nick.  I think he is pretty darn cute sporting his Unity card! :)

For whatever reason blogger was giving me grief about adding this picture to my last post, so I stopped fighting it and just made a new post.  (scroll down to see the rest of the Unity Hubby Challenge pics)

Unity's Husband Challenge

The girls on the SCS Unity Forum decided to make a challenge for the husbands this week.  Basically the only requirement was that they stamp  (Nick wasn't too happy about this at first, he wanted more guidelines).  It took him a little while to pick out his Unity kit (Trick or Treat Peeps) and then get the hang of using them, but he quickly got to work.  I must say I was a little worried when he decided he wasn't going to use any sort of embellishment, but I should have known better.  My husband is very creative and I love his work (usually digital). He also does a little bit of paper crafting.  I love his card, and the fact that it has a racing strip!
My craft area is my dining room table.  Nick stamps, while my daughter Aurora plays on Nick Jr.com.    I've never had to stand on the chair while making a card, I had to take a picture of that!

Falling for Autumn (thanks Noggin!)

So this weekend we went to the Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island.  We have never been there before and it was PACKED.  Everyone was out enjoying the beautiful Fall weather that day.  Here is a picture of me and my girls in the pumpkin patch.

I think all the fun fall activities inspired my card making yesterday.  here is the card that I came up with....

Stamps: Unity's Dream Tree, CTMH Doodle Alphabet, leaf is from Joann's.

Paper: Bazzill Mocha Divine, Rusty Pickle

Ink: CTMH Black, Honey, Orange, Cranberry

Accessories: Buttons & Ribbon

I'm Jumping Off the Bridge!

Everyone else is doing it, so I am too!  I joined SCS a while back and have found so many wonderful people and ideas, but it also showed me that if you are a stamper you pretty much HAVE to HAVE a blog.  I've been debating trying out for Design Teams and they too want to see your blog, have you promote on your blog, and show off your stuff ON YOUR BLOG! :)  So here it is, my first official post. I really hope I can find the time to update this and get some of my projects completed as well.
