Etsy Inspired #33

The last April Etsy challenge is the for the Etsy store Opalescence. The store has lots of cute jewelry and beautiful yarn. I used these earrings for my inspiration and went with a heart theme.

The photos are of my parent's wedding and some of them weren't in the best of shape, but I wanted to use as many as possible. All the DP is Cosmo Cricket Hoeny Pie. I tore up a bunch of scraps and modge podged it to the CTMH heart in the corner. The ric rac is Cosmo Cricket as well. The hearts and scallops in the center are a Unity stamp from the "Be Owl Mine" kit. I have a second page to this layout and will be sharing it soon.

Don't forget to have fun shopping on Etsy!

Tulips, tulips, and more stuff!

This weekend we went to the tulip festival in Woodland, WA. All I can say is WOW! I have never seen SO many beautiful tulips or tulips that were so TALL. I won't subject you to ALL of my photos and it's hard for me to even pick my favorites, so I will just include one of each of my girls. They are both looking a little overwhelmed by all the flowers! hehe.

I don't have any crafty photos to share with you today, but just wanted to say some thank you and exciting news.

Thank you to De for sending me a cute card and delicious Unity blog candy. Please go check out her blog Musings of a Stampin DE Va. I also wanted to thank Ann at Creative Antics for sending me some American Crafts FLAIR! I can't wait to use it, I love pins and think this is the perfect embellishment! Ann also sent a beautiful card in her package.

I was so excited to find out that TWO of the OBP entries I posted last week were picked as winners! HOW COOL IS THAT! Thank you to all of the OPB DT for amazing inspiration and to Johanna for hosting the Earth Day Extravaganza! I have my fingers crossed to win the grand prize! How AWESOME would $100 in OBP stamps be?

OK, if you didn't know already it is UNITY STAMP COMPANIES 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! There is a PARTY going on all week! Check it out over on SCS.....HERE and of course their BLOG.

That is it for now, I will be back later this week with my ETSY inspired challenge and hopefully lots of Unity challenges. Unity is giving away one MONSTER of a prize, go to the party and check it out.

HHH

It's FRIDAY! WOO HOO! I made this card for yesterdays hip hop challenge. You were supposed to use the colors green, blue and brown.

My girls received some ducky soap that came in a plastic container at Easter time. I of course saved that container and cut it apart for the grass part of this card. Behind it I stamped Unity's Eco Chic Sunflower in CTMH Honey and Clover Meadow on CTMH Notebook paper. The background and butterfly are DCWV green stack and the twine was from the Target dollar spot. The Unity butterfly is from the August KOTM, which is on sale this weekend, it's a STEAL! Oh and it also comes with a FREE STAMP by the same artist! Check it out HERE ! Don't forget to go to the Unity Blog and see all the other deals and HHH participants!

The little guy below was helping my husband do yard work yesterday and since it was an earthy card, I thought I would let him hang out on my blog today.

Odd Bird Planet Earth Day Challenge #3

I started this last OBP challenge yesterday and didn't think that I would finish it, but I did! HOORAY! This challenge was to incorporate an egg carton into your project. Find out more details on Dianne's Blog.
It's basically one big Cosmo Cricket project, but hey, you can't go wrong with Cosmo. The background in Jack's world Lessons. The stamp is from the Jack's world line too and the rub ons are from Honey Pie. The green "labels" are cut out on my cricut and are from the Accent Essentials cartridge. I painted my egg carton with pink and purple and used CTMH petal ink for the stamping. My layouts have been quick and simple lately but I'm enjoying the way the turn out! (this is a 12x12 layout, but I zoomed in a bit for a better picture)

Odd Bird Planet Earth Day Challenge #2

*this is my second post of the day, scroll down for challenge #1*

This challenge was by Debbie, here is her BLOG. The challenge was to use those magazine subscription inserts, that are always falling out of the magazine, and turn them into a card. I had fun with this project as well, and actually paid attention to the CARD part! ;) I originally thought I was going to frame a picture with the inserts, but changed my mind and enjoyed the result.

The card base is a manilla folder and the insert was from Scrapbooks etc. The Hi and Yellow paper are Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday Elements and the brackets are Making Memories Hul.la.ba.loo. I used CTMH Cranberry and Sweet Leaf inks along with the CTMH Doodle Alphabet stamps. I think that font is my favorite!

And just incase you aren't familiar with OPB stamps, go check them out now! They are too cute, gnomes, owls, and mushrooms, OH MY!

Odd Bird Planet Earth Day Challenge #1

Hey, it's another page for my mom's album, are you shocked?? ;) I LOVE this page though! I wanted to play along with the Odd Bird Planet Challenges for Earth Day yesterday. The first one I completed can be found HERE on Teresa's blog. It was to use OLD TEXT in your project. Hopefully they will except mine cause I missed the part that said CARD! lol I'm so into getting my mom's album done, I just did a layout with out thinking! The picture is her Senior High school photo and I thought an old book page would go perfectly. I picked up an old book at the Library last week because I had seen so many wonderful blogs with old text projects lately. The "school" paper is from CTHM notebook.

Be back in a bit with another challenge.

Etsy Inspired #32

It's Etsy time! This week Ashley sent us over to Angel Face Designs. Heather creates many beautiful things with silver, including necklaces and wine charms. My inspiration was to use all the CIRCLES I saw on her site, like in the photo below. With Mother's day coming up, this could be a wonderful gift for a grandmother with all her grandkids names on it! :)

And here is my layout! Again, for my mom's album. Circles, circles and more circles for her circle of friends.

The background and pink paper is Ki Memories. The purple circle and scallops came from the Target dollar spot. The "circle of friends" tag is a CTMH font along with the circles that are stamped behind it. In the upper left, we have three Unity Stamps from the November KOTM. (oh how I wish I could be a KOTM subscriber!) The journaling card in the middle is Cosmo Cricket.

Ok fellow scrapbookers, how do you photograph your layouts? Do you use a scanner? What's the trick? Thanks for any input in advance!

Etsy Inspired #31

This weeks Etsy Shop is Make Mine Mud. Misspottery has filled her store with all kinds of adorable clay creations. The photo above is what I pulled my inspiration from. Go to Ashley's blog for all the details on the Etsy challenges!

I decided to take those cute leaves and use them in my layout. You are going to be seeing lots of layouts from me in the next few weeks. I have to finish my mom's album before she comes to visit on MAY 7th!!! YIKES! I'm excited she is coming to visit and will be here for Mother's Day, but I need to get cracking!

I used my one of my favorite Cosmo Cricket Lines for this project, Mr Campy!!! When I saw this DP online I knew I had to have it. I wasn't sure for what, but it was a MUST HAVE! The frame is a CTMH die cut and the tree is a Unity Stamp, but everything else is Cosmo Cricket. I used my Cricut to cut out the Title. (I'm so punny ;) ) I'm trying to find ways to get lots of photos on a page and since there were two of the view from our deck in San Francisco (oh how I wished I still lived in the city) and one of our dog looking out over the deck, it just made sense to combine them!

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Easter

I hope everyone is spending quality time with family and friends today and enjoying some delicious food too. Feel free to have a Cadbury Cream egg for me, they are so good, but I managed to avoid buying some for myself this year.

I got around to getting the last of my thank you cards made and photographed so I thought I would post them this morning. Again, HOW YUYMMY is that Sassafras Lass paper with the Bam Pop stamps!! LOVE IT!

HHH

Hi all,

So I am slowly working on an album for my mom, at her request, filled with photos to capture the first 60 years of her life! OH MY, what a task. Mainly just sorting all the photos, but I'm slowly getting it done. Here is one of the layouts for her album, my mom in 1967.

Unity Stamps Used:

Flower from August KOTM
What's your mood?
Scalloped details and dates

The flower is CTMH Notebook paper and the center is a brown paper bag. I used bamboo ink to distress the cardstock and chocolate ink on the stamps.

Make sure to check out all the Unity Specials and other HHH girls HERE

Etsy Inspired #30

This weeks Etsy Challenge was to use the inspiration from Lauren Alexanders art. Her watercolors are so cute and colorful with sweet birds and they are adorable! Go have a look HERE. I didn't use one piece for my inspiration, just all of her work, the colors and the birds, so I thought Sassafras Lass paper would be a PERFECT match! The Owl and circles are Sassafras stamps. The rub on dots in the top corner are "The Sweet Life" and the friend rub on I had laying around.

All the info on the Etsy Challenge can be found on Ashley's blog, but today at noon is it for this challenge. The next one comes out tomorrow! (There is a catch though, she is also doing a guest DT spot, and you have to complete all this months challenges to win a chance. So get cracking!)

Nikoart Stamps

My spiffy sister and brother in-law sent me some super cute stamps from Nikoart, an etsy store. You can see the set they sent me HERE! So of course I had to sit down and play with them. I combined my new stamps with the latest Caardvarks Challenge. This challenge was to make a card based on the sketch below, best of all this challenge is being sponsored by Hero Arts. The paper is Sassafras Lass ( you will be seeing a lot of it in my up coming cards) and the ribbon is Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie.
