HHH and still waiting for a few more followers!

Hi all, just a quick post for this fun friday before I am headed off to the BIG CITY for my husband's 30th B-day weekend! WOO HOO PARTY! One of the Unity challenges from yesterday was to create a project with a knot on it. I created these large clothespins as gifts for my mom and mother in law (they can't seem to get enough photos of their granddaughters)! The butterfly is from Unity's kit Be "Owl" Mine ( I love this kit and use it all the time) and the "place photo here" is from Our Life Our Stories. The paper is from Rusty Pickle and the blackboard is Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie.

The second Unity challenge was to use some of your newest Unity stamps. I used my new set Shine On! I also cut up the new Unity stamp PACKAGING and used that on my card. I stamped the lamp onto the clear plastic with Staz On and then placed the packaging over the DP. The cute fuzzy ribbon on the bottom is Cosmo Cricket.

Also, still hoping to get to 50 followers until I post some blog candy. Maybe some peeks at what I have to give away will help, I'll do that next week! Have wonderful weekend!

8 is Great!

I found the time to participate in the newest Caardvarks challenge, SHAPE UP. You can make anything as long as it isn't the usual square or rectangle. I needed to make a b-day card for a super cute 8 year old and this is what I came up with.

I used my cricut to cut the 8 out of black cardstock and then traced it onto white cardstock. I cut out the white cardstock so that it would be attached on the bottom left side to open like a card. Then I glued the white 8 on back of the black 8. I made tickets from Inkadinkado stamps, used making memories star brads, sweet life rub ons, american crafts ribbon, and the party hat came from Target years ago. This card is already on the way to CA!

I also wanted to give a BIG shout out to E.A.D. Designs. I received some of their new scrapbooking rub ons in the mail and they are HUGE! I can't wait to play with them. I guess I am used to rub ons for cards because I was expecting much smaller images but I am THRILLED with the designs and size of these rub ons. Really, go check it out HERE in their store. Oh and they also do wall vinyl. :)

A Challenge Card and BLOG CANDY INFO

HI ALL!

Just a quick reminder, in case you missed it, once my blog hits 50 followers (4 more!!) I will be giving away some blog candy! So tell you friends to follow me. :)

Now onto the card

I combined two challenges to make this card. One was for Unity's Hip Hop Thursday challenge to use STARS and the other was a citrus color challenge from Cath at Moxie Fab World. The Unity challenge ends in a couple hours, HERE, but there is plenty of time to head over to Moxie Fab and try that challenge.

The hanging tag is from a Making Memories ribbon. I just recycled it and covered in in CTMH Notebook DP. All the stamps are from Unity's School Rock Star. I wanted the little pencil to stand out a bit, so I lined it with black before placing it. I used CTMH Clover Meadow, White Daisy, and Honey ink. The cute green ribbon is from the Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy line.

Thank for stopping by!

Etsy Inspired #36 and Pretty Poppies!

This weeks Etsy Store is Dogbone Art and they have some petty cute stuff! I guess their shirts have been worn on the show Ace of Cakes! Check out Ashley's blog for all the info on how to play along and see a picture of the cute robot plushie they have donated to the winner. For my card I decided to go with the cupcakes that are all over their store. Everyone loves cupcakes and they even have PIRATE ONES!

My cupcakes aren't pirate related instead they are alien related! I had to ink up my new OBP stamps for this challenge. Aren't they cute!? They are called Planet Cupcake and Cupcake Creature. The Earth stamp is also OBP. I'm not sure what the paper brand is because it came in the Strongman Bundle I got from OBP. I thought this would make a fun birthday card with a silly saying on the inside. Like birthdays are like planet cupcake, calories don't count on them. Or something silly like that.

I received my package from Cath on Moxie Fab World the other day and WOW! She wasn't joking when she said the WHOLE Autumn Leaves Pretty Poppies collection. There is so much fun stuff here! I've been on a winning streak in blogland lately and I want to pass some of the fun on to you. So when my followers count hits 50 people (that's only 7 more), I will be giving away my own blog candy! Tell your friends to pop on over and follow my blog!

Who wants cake?

This card was for the VSN challenge on SCS, CARD BUFFET. You have until tomorrow night at 10:00 to participate in all the VSN challenges that took place over the weekend. Go and check it out, there is some fun stuff and prizes too! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO THE CARDS RECIPIENT! :)

For this card I used Rusty Pickle dp, a Unity cake stamp, a white gel pen for the "stitching" and cake icing, American Craft Essentials ribbon, markers, glitter glue, and the celebrate rub on.

I'm working on my etsy card next and have a couple more projects ready to share soon. :)

SO EXCITED!

I received my OBP stamps in the mail! HOORAY! I can't wait to play with them. I do however need to buy some cling foam but I will make do without for now! :) Isn't that little gnome card too cute?

In other crafting news..... I was asked to be on the Etsy Inspired DT for JUNE! HOORAY! I've never been on a DT team before, so I'm beyond thrilled. Thank you so much to Ashley for letting me join your wonderful team. I even got to add a cute new Guest DT logo to my side bar! :D

Time to Play Catch Up!

Mother's day weekend has come and gone. My mom came for a fun but short visit and I managed to get her scrapbook done ON TIME! She was beyond thrilled and said she was going to call her friend Dee to tell her she had a "60s" scrapbook too!

So yesterday it was time to start back up on my books. I keep three main scrapbooks right now. One is family book of all the major events in our lives and then my daughters each get their own book. To let you know how behind I am, the last thing I scrapped in my family book was 4th of July 2008, in my older daughters book it was her 2nd birthday, and in my younger daughters book it was her 1 month photos. YIKES! My baby is now 1 and my older daughter 3, where did a year go?!?! When I step into my craft room it's all about the scrapbook pages now, unless of course I have a birthday card I need to make, but I'm going to try my best to stay focused.

I made this layout following this weeks sketch (# 56) over at Triple the Sketch. It's the first time I have played along there. Here is the link to the original post with the Sketch, HERE.

This layout is of THE TREADWAYS coming to visit me and my family. We love you, come back soon!

I used Friendly Forest paper and journaling cards on this layout. The two heart and HOOT stamps are Sassafras. The T is a CTMH font and the swirl under the journaling tag is from Unity Stamp Co. I used CTMH baby blue and sweet leaf inks.

2 layouts and a HOORAY!

Both of the layouts below are challenges from Jennifer Buck for Unity Stamp Co. Jennifer has so much talent, you should go and pay her blog a visit HERE.

The first layout was for a sketch challenge over at My Unity Place. You can find it HERE. I used DCWV Paper and two Unity stamps from the March KOTM. (I don't own that kit, but I won these two stamps from De, thanks again De!) The arrow and coner rub on are from the sweet life set I always seem to come back to again and again.

This next layout is for my mom's album and is her DAD (my grandpa). It was for the Unity's first anniversary color challenge. The challenge is now over, but you can find the details HERE. I don't own any SU colors, I had tried to come close. Again I used a Sweet Life Rub on, Unity's December KOTM, My Heart Goes Boom, August KOTM, and a journaling stamp. The DP is Sassafras and so are the letter stickers.

So for my HOORAY, I WON the OBP GRAND PRIZE!!! WOO HOO! Time to shop! Any OBP lovers out there have any suggestions on must have stamps for me?

I will be back tomorrow with the second half of the wedding layout I promised.
