30% off ALL PAPER AT TORENDI!

*If you are looking for my Friends with Flair post, please scroll down!*

Just a quick post to let you know that all paper at Torendi is 30% off all weekend long in honor of National Scrapbooking Day! WOO HOO!  Have fun stocking up!

Unity's Friends with Flair!

This week Unity Stamp Company has been celebrating their second birthday! I found some time to party with them and join in the FWF posts this week. Hop over to the Unity Blog for the full FWF list and a chance to win some Unity Stamps. There is also still time to join in the fun and play along over on the SCS forum. Here are the two cards I managed to make for some of the challenges.

I had fun using a bunch of Claudine Hellmuth products and techniques with this card. The tree and sentiment are both from the Unity "Love Grows" set. This is actually the first time I sewed on a card too! I couldn't help but put the little leaf stitch!

Here is a closer look at the faux batik look I did.

Again, I used some Japanese Masking Tape from Love My Tapes and the paper is BG Koshi.  Amy was having a great deal over at Caffinated Cropper

My next card is using Unity's "Mix Up of Cuteness" and the new Sassafras Apple Jack and Nerdy Bird Paper  (in stock at Torendi).  Both of my girls have names that start with A, so I think that's what inspired this card.

On a completely different note, my friend Shauna, just opened her own Etsy Shop! If your little one is in the need of an adorable little hat, please check out ItsyBitsyKnitsy! Also perfect for baby shower gifts!

Saying Thanks!

*Scroll down two posts for the Torendi Earth Day Blog Hop! You still have today and tomorrow to enter to win!!*

I've been slacking on making thank you cards for my daughter's b-day last month.  I finally got them done using some Lawn Fawn Stamps!  I used the "critters in the 'burbs" set.

My daughter loves cats and pink!

The set also comes with this adorable sentiment which I stamped on the inside of the cards.

Here they are in bulk!
(wish me luck on remembering to get them mailed out)

Mother's Day Poppies!

*If you are looking for the Torendi Blog Hop (PRIZES), please go to the post below*

I played along with 3 different challenge blogs and created 3 Mother's Day cards using the new E.A.D Designs Mother's Stickerz.  Mother's day is just around the corner and these Stickerz will make your card making fast and easy! Not to mention affordable since they are now on sale!  (More E.A.D Designs Stickerz coming in MAY!)  All the cards use the Autumn Leaves Pretty Poppies collection.   This first card is based off sketch number 50 at 2 Sketches 4 You.  The paper just went so perfectly with the E.A.D Stickerz sentiment.

My next card is based off Sketch 35 over at Get Sketchy.  This one is a little more of a rough interpretation, but I saw the scalloped circle in the sketch and decided to represent them with the scallops from this ippity stamp (I used an ippity stamp in the first card as well)!

This little card is based off of the current CardPatterns sketch. This time I placed the sentiment on the inside of the card.

And here are all 3 cards together, just because! :) I love the colors of the Poppies Line on the Jillibean Soup Kraft Cardstock!

Torendi Earth Day Blog Hop!

Happy Earth Day!  I hope you all are doing something EVERYDAY to help preserve the Earth, but today Torendi wanted to do some fun Earth friendly projects for you.  Hopefully you started at the beginning of the hop and found me from the "oh soooo" talented Heidi's Blog.  If not, you can start from the beginning HERE.

I tend to save all kinds of clothing tags, toy packaging and other "junk" in hopes that one day I will reuse it. I also find it hard to throw away the smallest scraps of patterned paper and try to use those when I can. For my projects, that's exactly what I did!

I used the Roxy tag and the coffee holder to make this fun project below. I left the twine super long so I can later tie it around a mug, bag of coffee beans, or some other caffeine inspired gift for a friend.

Torendi Products Used

Modern Red Kit - Patterned Paper

This bookmark is made from on the "cat" toy holder. I've had it so long I can't even remember what it came from but I'm assuming it's one of my girls toys.

The backs are blank.  The Roxy tag came that way and the other one I covered with paper from a  8 x 11 photo bag from Fred Meyer.  This way I can write a personal message on the back later on.

I also used a piece of cardboard I got from a costco box as my photo backdrop.  Just remember there is usually a way to reuse everything!

Now keep on hoping over to Kelly Marie's Blog! Don't forget to leave comments on all the blogs for a chance to win some veggie felties and play along with our "recycle" challenge to win some Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Chipboard!

Entertaining the Girls with E.A.D Glingz

I like stickers as much as the next person but I DON'T like them on my windows.  The girls put these on their bedroom window (yes I was there, I thought they looked like the kind that would come off easier...I was wrong). This weekend I decided to SCRAPE them off and let the girls put up something that was window friendly...

Like these E.A.D Designs Dandelion Clingz!  The best part is they are pink, brown and green! The exact colors in in the girls bedroom!
Please follow the link for a better view of the clingz sheet.

Here is Alice placing her dandelion!

Of course Aurora's has to go higher and be pink!

Dandelions in the sun (maybe I should try taking a pic on a cloudy day).

Close up view

Once the girls placed all the dandelions, they came after my silly owls!!! I guess they were having fun.

There are a few more Clingz designs over at E.A.D, like Monster Clingz.  Perfect for any little boys who need a fun weekend project.  I hope this blog post can save you from an hour of SCRAPING stickers off your windows. :)

Seeing Lime and Pink?!

Emily from E.A.D Designs gave the design team a fun color combo to work with this month, lime green and pink! I was stumped for a while, since it's not a color combo I work with a lot but I'm happy with the results.

For this card I used the Dream Big Stickerz and the flowers from Easter Boarders.  This card goes along with the Moxie Fab sketch challenge too!

Here is the inside of the card.  I love the brown and pink sentiments from the Dream Big set.

My second card uses the same Easter Boarders flowers and the sentiment is another sneak peek at the new Stickerz line. (Emily is going to have to take these away from me! I can't put them down and pretty soon I'm going to show the whole thing! LOL) The E.A.D flowers went perfectly with the flower stem from Lawn Fawn's Critter's in the 'Burbs stamp set (the cute little butterfly and trail are from that set too).  The lime green "frame" is just a bonus piece from the Easter Boarders set. The paper is Sassafras Nerdy Bird and I also snuck in some Japanese masking tape under the Stickerz sentiment!

Want to win these adorable E.A.D Designs Silly Owl Clingz?!

All you need to do is leave a comment on my blog and the rest of the E.A.D team (links below)! So easy! Good luck! (if you are reading this on facebook, please note that you have to go to my blog..HERE)

Clowns? I Hate Clowns!

Ok, so I'm pretty sure that clowns are a love/hate thing for most people and I am most definitely on the hate side.  That being said, I still couldn't resist using this Sassafras paper! They must know how to work some real design magic over at Sassafras to get me to find this little clown cute.

The clown and red patterned paper come from the new Apple Jack line and the adorable camera stamp is "Instant Love" by Bam Pop!  The "bubble" is also by Bam Pop! from the Popfont 2 set. Thanks to Kim Kesti and Cath at Moxie Fab World for the fun sketch to play with! You have until April 26th to play along too!

P.S. I wish I could get it to show up better in my photos but I used glossy accents on the "Polaroid" and it looks super cool! :D

Are you ready for Easter?

I'm sure you have heard enough of me saying how crazy March is around here but it has come and gone and now we are getting ready for Easter.  This year we are going to visit family in Arizona and I had to remember to make the girl's Easter cards in advance (meaning not the night before)! This weeks sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You looked like a good place to start! I used lots of fun products on these cards and think they are too cute!  The yellow Easter eggs are from the E.A.D Designs Easter Boarders Rub-ons and the pink polka dots are from the Easter 1 Rub-ons.  I just love how E.A.D rub-ons make my projects come together so easily! I'm sure I have mentioned that before, as well as how you should follow their blog for fun news and COUPON CODES!!

  Similar but not identical.

Close up of all the products.  The cute bunny stamps is by Bam Pop! and can be found in the March Torendi Kit "Framed Cuteness".  The aqua polka dot paper is from the new Nerdy Bird line by Sassafras, also available at Torendi. The fun colored tape is Japanese masking tape from"Love My Tapes".

I used some CTMH stamps for the inside sentiment.

I have been working on some new felties and came up with these little guys to go with the new Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety paper.  Want to win some?  Find out how on the Torendi blog TODAY!
