Where does time go???

I think after Halloween, even though we fall back and gain an hour, somehow the days are shorter.  I don't know where time goes or what I do with it, but it seems there is so much to do and no time to do it.  Sorry it has been so long since my last posting.

I have a few things to show you.....

I mailed off one of my  bookmarks and made this quick card to send it on with matching Sassafras Sunshine Lollipops paper.

I have also been working on more bookmarks and thought I would show it to you in a book this time.  I had someone post a comment asking me how they worked, so here it is.  P.S. I love Ms. Pacman!  I can post the actually bookmark later if anyone would like to see a bigger pic of it.

Lastly, here is one of the 40 Christmas cards I was making this past week.  They all look similar but have different squares of Tinkering Ink Yuletide Paper (thank you Unity and Tinkering Ink).  The little ginger bread man is a CTMH stamp.  These cards are going out to friends and family as soon as I get a picture of the family taken and printed to send with them.  I wanted to make something that would be FLAT (no brads, ribbon, buttons) so that it wouldn't cost extra to mail out.  It's not my favorite card, but I'm happy with it as a massed produced product.  I will be making other Christmas cards for friends and family that I will be seeing or sending a package too, so they will get some embellishments on theirs.  I'm actually in the middle of one now, but had to get a post up, it was killing me to be so far being on my blog.  I also want to be able to play during HIP HOP Thursday tomorrow, so hopefully I will have a post up for you then!

3 More Bookmarks

Here are three bookmarks I made this weekend.  Two of which match the card I made the other day, using Unity's Hey Chick and Cosmo Cricket DP. (the fronts looked very similar, so I only posted one of them  The third one is made with the goodies that Gina sent me in the mail the other day, and I think it's so cute.  ( I hope Gina does too)

I'm off to do some SHOPPING in a big CITY tomorrow!  HAPPY DAY! :)

I LOVE MAIL AND GINA!

So in Astoria, there aren't too many options for stamping and craft shopping.  I moved away from a city in CA, that just opened a HUGE paper crafting store called Green Tangerines (Green T for the cool kids, they have a blog and looks like ONLINE SHOPPING SOON!). Luckily for me, my bestest friend GINA, still lives there (in CA, not the paper store, ok maybe at the paper store some weeks) and sends me WONDERFUL things in the mail.  Sometimes I ask her to look for certain items and sometimes she just surprises me.  Well today, I was just expecting a small 6x6 Sassafras paper pack and  I got these cute Sassafras stamps to go with it!

WOW, I LOVE THEM! Thank you, thank you!  You do WAY too much for me ALL the time!  (Just to prove my point about Gina and her generosity..... Last Winter we were without power/heat/hot water on the Coast for 4 long days, so Gina bought us a small butane powered stove with butane, just incase for this year)   I wish she would start a blog, so you all could get to know her better and see the cute creations she makes as well.

I will post pics of my first project with my new stamps tomorrow, it's for Gina! (So Gina if you don't want to see it, remember not to look at my blog.  Oh and Rori took her toys to bed tonight.) :)

Another happy note....I'm super excited for my husband, as he got an internship at a design/art studio today!!!! I love you sweetie and your art! I hope this opens lots of new doors and brings many new and exciting opportunities your way.

Did you hip hop yesterday??

If not there is always next week, but you are missing out.  Unity's hip hop Thursdays are full of good times and wonderful creations!  Join SCS and look at the Unity forum HERE.  Also, go to the Unity Blog to see all the new releases and a list of all the ladies who have Unity posts up today!

Here is the card I made for the one layer challenge using the Holiday Cheer stamp (it's hard to only use ONE layer of paper!!)....

and here is a card I made (that will be on it's way in the mail soon) using the Unity Hey Chick Set and some Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine Paper.  I'm having fun paper piecing these little chicks and love the paper!

It's been too long since my last post...

and I forgot to take a picture of my Hip Hop Thursday prize pack that arrived on MONDAY! Can you say SUPER FAST!  I did however take a picture of my daughter using some bubble wrap from the package as a scarf! :)

So here was my project for the day.  What is it you ask, it's a bookmark. When I saw these posted on SCS, I knew I wanted to try making them. I believe I saw some that Tanis, Paper Princess at Play, had made and they inspired me.  This one is for my mom, who I'm pretty sure doesn't read my blog. (If you do, sorry to ruin the surprise) It probably would have taken less time if I knew what I wanted to do or what I wanted on it, but all I knew was that I wanted to play with my new Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine paper and Unity stamps.  I ended up choosing my August KOTM and having fun with that.  I did a little paper piecing on the trailer with the little red hearts and though that the window could use some glitter.
The stitching is hand done and the last thing I decided to do, next time it will be the first.  (For those of you who know me, I still haven't used my sewing machine!!! I really need to stop being afraid of it, or maybe it's the fact that I would have to set it up to use it) There will be more bookmarks to share later on this week, although I'm having a hard time stamping and sharing right now because I will be giving away Christmas secrets.  Oh well, if you don't want to see what you are getting, DON'T LOOK! ;)

Unity Christmas Card Swap

Here is the card I made for the Unity Christmas Card Swap.  I've never done a swap before, so I thought I would give it a whirl.

And here are the cards that I received in the mail today!  They are all so fun and adorable! Thanks Unity ladies!  I'm inspired to start my holiday cards now.  I just have to decide what Unity stamps I want to use! :)

This was so much fun!  I was stressing while making my cards, thinking that they might not be good enough or nobody would like them.  I'm hooked now though, and will be participating in more card swaps in the future, that's for sure! I do think it's funny that every card I received from the swap was the same size and mine was the odd one out, what does that mean??? Is there something I should know?

Last Halloween Post for the Year

It's the day after Halloween and I'm sure everyone is on a sugar HIGH! I just wanted to post a couple things to finish up this fun filled day and then on to new holidays.

Here are my girls and husband all dressed up and ready to go get their Halloween treats.  Not that many people knew what the girls were supposed to be, but that's ok, I LOVE their costumes! (One lady called my daughter a cute M & M)

I also wanted to share this photo.  The mask I found in my mailbox this morning!?! I don't know if it was meant to scare me or if someone was just trying to get rid of it.  Any ideas?  The main thing I waned to share was the treat bag that my daughter received yesterday. It's supposed to look like a witch's broom, made from a stick, a piece of twine, and two brown paper bags.  SO CUTE, and so simple! I might have to copy this next year.

ok, on to my next post!
