Forest Party

I made this card for my sister in laws birthday, and I think it came out really cute.  I used the DCWV Green Stack, I'm in love with this paper!
Then I combined some of my Unity stamp kits.  The trees are from giggle grove, and I used brown paper bag to make the trunks.   The deer and bird are colored with Copics and Sharpies and are from the November KOTM.  The inside and outside banners are from the Whimsical Birthday kit.  I had lost of fun picking and choosing stamps from different kits!

My mother in law got me this foiling/glitter kit for Christmas.  Has anyone heard of it?  It's called Tonertex Foils.  It comes with these great "foiling" adhesive pens that work wonderfully with their glitter.  That is what I used on the circles in both banners.  I haven't braved using the foil part yet.

ok, see you tomorrow for HIP HOP THURSDAY!  (I can't wait to hear about CHA from the Unity girls)

I'm so excited!

I made this card yesterday for the limeLIGHT Papercrafts Challenge and Mandy was sweet enough to post it on the limeLIGHT blog  today! (Go check it out) :)  They host a challenge every Thursday and this was my first time to participate.  The challenge was to use the sketch below and two or more different stamps.

For my card I used:

Stamps: Unity's Tree from the November KOTM, Sassafras Lass Organic Borders and Hoo Do You Love?

Paper: DCWV Green Stack ( I am loving this paper, check it out if you get a chance)

Ink: CTMH Chocolate and Honey

January has been a yucky month for me. (I think I am starting the year over with Chinese New Year) Anyway, this was a wonderful highlight to my month, thank you Mandy.

wow, I kinda disappeared

Hey All,

I had such a great week with my week in Unity, and then I fell off the blogging planet.  Sorry about that.  We had to put our sweet little ferret to sleep, along with a few other things in life that can get in the way, but here I am again.

I made this card, just cause.  I have seen this Unity Whatever stamp (from the December KOTM) used by a few people on SCS, but I thought it needed a little more attitude, so here is my take. After I made it, I found out that Friday's SCS challenge was to make a card with black cardstock as the base, SCORE! I also added details to the inside of the card, since that is so popular right now, and I think that it is needed with a black based card.

The details:

Cardstock - White - Paper Accents Black - DCWV

DP- Rusty Pickle Pirate Princess Grace O Malley and DCWV Skull Paisley

Binder Paper

Stamps - Unity's Skull in Love (from Love is Toxic) , Whatevea, and Listen up (December KOTM)

Prima Flowers - Winter Mix #1 and Iced Pink

Gem - CTMH

Ribbon - Creative Imaginations

Growing in Unity, Day Five!

I'm sad to say it's my last day Growing in Unity, but I had a blast this week.  It was great fun making sure I had all my cute projects done with my Unity stamps.

For Christmas my mom got me an Express It Candle holder from Party Lite,  you can alter or choose what you want to display in it.  So of course I picked some of my favorite photos of my girls and Unity stamps and went to work.  I used a lot of different kits on this project as well.  Can I just say that I think paper piecing is my favorite thing ever.  It is so relaxing to me.

The sets I used were, Giggle Grove, Mix up of Cuteness, November and December KOTM, Cuter than Most.  I also went back to my Sassafras Sunshine Lollipops Wee Bundle cause it is just too cute.

Thanks again for all your kind words and visiting my blog all week.

Growing in Unity Winner

I let my daughter do the random drawing for my Growing with Unity winner.  She drew number 13, which was Sara (expressions of a creative mind).  (who says 13 is unlucky!) Congrats Sara!  Email Eryn ( eryn@unitystampco.com) and let her know you won my Growing in Unity blog candy, USK-197-3 Owl Journal Box!

Don't forget to come back tomorrow and see my last project for the week.

Growing in Unity, DAY FOUR...

and HIP HOP THURSDAY! WOO HOO!  What could be better?  To join in the Hip Hop fun, go the the UNITY BLOG to start the DT hop (ALWAYS AMAZING WORK) and to see all of the specials and new stamps for the day.  Then join us for a day of fun on the SCS forum HERE .  I will announce the winner of my Unity Single on that forum later in the evening.  (Which will be the Owl Journal Box, since it was almost a unanimous choice)

So here is the mini album in a DVD tin that I made for my friends birthday.  She called me a few weeks ago to say she was getting married (eloping) in April and couldn't believe all there was to do. She was glad she wasn't planning a HUGE wedding cause she couldn't handle it.  So I thought I would make her a cute little planner that would also be a great way to remember the memories after the wedding.  I hope she likes it.  I picked black, white and red and had some fun with it, she has a quirky fun personality.  This is her second wedding, so it's not the traditional theme and she was thinking of putting some RED streaks in her hair with a black or red dress.  Ok, with all that said, HERE IT IS.  (lots of pics)  Other than some basic white cardstock and DVWC sparkly red paper, all other paper is KI memories Pop Culture.

The first pic (above) is the album in it's tin.  I used Unity's Love is Toxic and a CTMH Chipboard heart.

Here is the album cover.  I used the frame from the November KOTM and Bliss from the December KOTM.  The red font is CTMH and the White is a Quickutz font.

Left page: is for a picture of the Bride and Groom.  The smaller frame is from the December KOTM and the larger frame is from the August KOTM.  The white kiss stamps is in the November KOTM.  Right page: is for the happy couple to tell the story of how they met or whatever they want to remember about their courtship.  I used the stamp from the November KOTM that says "Home is where your Story begins" and only inked it up so that is would say Our story instead. The I {heart} you is in the August KOTM.
Left page:  The sentiment is from Hey Chick! and thought it would be GREAT with a photo of the wedding dress.  Right Page: LAUGH is from the November KOTM. I set this up as a to do list, but wanted to remind her to have FUN with it, so that's why the word LAUGH.

Left Page: I set up for photos of the rings. Right Page: The sentiment is from the August KOTM (love this kit by Jessica Rose BTW!)
This is the back of the album.  Just a little reminder is from the December KOTM.  The "sweet" heart is from the August KOTM and the XO is from Love is Toxic.

View of the inside
View of the backside.  I just added 4 pieces of binder paper for my friend to make any kind of notes on that she needs to.  The black words are run ons, but the red words are Unity stamps.  Indulge and daydream both from the August KOTM.

That's all for today, see you tomorrow for one more project!  Of course it has to involve pictures of my sweet little girls.

Growing in Unity, DAY THREE!

Morning Unity Lovers!  Thanks for tuning in to day three of my Growing with Unity week.  Today, as promised, is my fun recycling project.  I took this little can of mandarin oranges and turned it into a...

cute little cupcake tin for my daughter.  (She has a thing for cupcakes, but who doesn't??) After removing the label (comes off really easy) and washing the tin.  I used the label as a template and marked out where I wanted the holes in my can to thread the ribbon and also used it to measure my patterned paper.  I used my crop-a-dile II (thank you GINA!) to make the holes in my tin and patterned paper. On a side note, I really haven't used my crop-a-dile that much (it's fairly new) but I was surprised just how easy it was to punch into the tin.  Then I glued on my Rusty Pickle Chocolate Truffle paper and threaded the black ribbon around the top.  Next it was on to STAMPING.  I pulled out my Unity Cupcakes A la Yummy kit and started paper piecing them with mocha and french vanilla Bazzill Cardstock and Sassafras Lass Serendipity Owl Pals Honeybunch paper. (oh I stamped the "Hey there cupcake" sentiment on the paper before gluing it to the can) So after cutting them out, I used some super cute dimensional rub-on sprinkles from
Colorbok The Sweet Life line.  (If you haven't seen their stuff, it's SUPER cute!) For the main cupcake (see close up) I used a CTMH Red Gem as the cherry on top and some sparkly glitter glue (yes that is the name of it!).

WOW, that was a lot of typing, I don't think I talk that much! ;)  Anyway, now that I have this super cute tin, I don't know what to put in it.  Any suggestions?

See you tomorrow for HIP HOP THURSDAY and my big project for the week!

Growing in Unity, Day TWO!

First off, thank you to everyone who has been leaving such wonderful comments.  :)

Today I'm sharing the second layout I sent in for the Unity DT tryouts.  It's a quick and simple layout, but I just love the colors.

I used Unity's Bright Snow (huge stamp!) with CTMH baby pink ink to create the background of my page.  The size of this stamp made it so quick and easy and I love the thought of pink snowflakes.  Wouldn't that be pretty to see falling from the sky?  (We did spray watercolor on our snowmen to make them pink this year! but somehow I lost those photos) :(

The DP is Tinkering ink Yuletide and the journaling card is Making Memories Noteworthy.

See you tomorrow for a fun RECYCLING project :)

Growing in Unity, DAY ONE!

MORNING UNITY LOVERS!  Thank you for tuning in to my week with Unity Stamp Company

We are going to start the week slow and end with a bang!  I'm in LOVE with the mini album I made, but it won't be making an appearance until later on in the week. (I might be a little bias though) ;)

Here is a card I made for my daughter's 3rd birthday.  Her birthday isn't until March, but I wanted to play with my new cuttlebug and Unity stamps and this is what happened.

The Details:

Patterned Paper: Sassafras Sunshine Lollipops wee bundle
Ribbon: American Craft Elements
Stamps: Unity Pinwheel and Birds from the November KOTM
Ink: CTMH Pink Carnation, Orange, and Chocolate
Embellishment: CTMH Clear Sparkles
Cuttlebug: Number Collage

I love the three birds to go with her 3rd birthday, but also because the card will be from three people, her daddy, her sister and me. :)

See you tomorrow and don't forget to check out the Unity Blog

On a roll

So I am still doing good with my exercise and crafting, woo hoo!

Here is a quick card I made for a friend who just delivered an 11 pound baby boy. (YEP 11 pounds and 2 ounces to be exact!) WAY TO GO MICHELLE! (I know you will probably see this post before we make it over for a visit)

I used my CTMH inks and Baby Steps acrylic stamps.  The paper is Petals and Possibilities, baby theme paper (it's probably 2 1/2 years old, since I think I bought it for my daughter's album) The cardstock and giraffe are DCWV Nana's Nursery.

Pictures as promised...

of my girls sabotaging my resolutions.

So of course every time I get crafty, my older daughter, has to get crafty!   I don't mind that she wants to create. It just takes time away from my work to get out her supplies and make sure she isn't decorating things she isn't supposed to be.  So when she goes down for a nap, it's time to exercise.  Well my younger daughter thought she would make her own schedule yesterday and woke up when I was supposed to get on the elliptical machine.  No biggie, I decided I would go downstairs and hop on Wii Fit while she played on the floor by me.  UM, NO!  She had other plans....

So even with balancing all that I did manage to make 6 of these thank you cards to send to family friends that sent the girls gifts for the holidays.  I used Cosmo Cricket Jack's World paper and stamps for this one.  It would have been a super quick card, but I decided to cut all the zig zags out and then layer them on top of each other again, so it doesn't look as flat in person.

Here is my question...Do you think editing photos and posting on my blog is allowed to count as "being crafty"? (or is that pushing it)  Let me know what you think, thanks.

2 days down 361 to go!

So I have managed to craft and exercise for 2 days in a row! woo hoo!  I decided that I would be on the treadmill all day if I had my laptop hooked up able to surf the net like in the pic above.  (I wish my arms looked like hers too)  While I have managed to keep my goals so far, I haven't managed to find the time to upload photos of my crafting. (I guess something had to give).  I also have photos of 2 of the ways my girls are trying to sabotage me. I will post them soon, maybe tomorrow.  I hope you all are doing well on your resolutions too. Happy New Year

Ready to get back in the swing of things!

It's the new year and I'm ready to blog it up!  My family is done visiting for the holidays and I'm ready to play with some new paper and presents!  Along with trying to exercise EVERYDAY, I want to craft EVERYDAY (even as little as stamping one image), so starting tomorrow, let's see how well I do! hehe

Today I wanted to let you know that Starving Artistamps just released some Valentine's Day Doodle Factory Stamps, and they are so cute. Check out their blog for a chance to win them and see for yourself just how cute they are.  Here is one of the sets
I also wanted to let you know that week of Monday January 12, I am honored to be Growing in Unity.  That means I will be posting a new project EVERYDAY featuring Unity Stamps.  Can't wait until then?  Check out Kim's blog Endless Inkabilities.
