Yo Ho Yo Ho

A Pirates Life for Me!  :)  My friend V, who is always so supportive of my crafting, requested that I make a pirate ship card yesterday.  Of course I couldn't say no, so here is what I came up with.  I decided to combine it with the latest Caardvarks Challenge, to use kraft.  I will be honest, this isn't "kraft paper" it is ColorMates Creamy Cocoa but it's the closest thing I had on hand.

I used stamps from Unity's Love it Toxic set and the little hearts are from be "owl" mine.  "Pirates Arrr" is from Ahoy Matey CTMH set. Ink is CTMH black and cranberry.  The ribbon is from Creative Imaginations, and the little red knot is some left over Christmas present string.

Virtual Stamp Night...

this weekend was VSN on SCS.  There was over 20 hours worth of stamping challenges and fun!  I was only able to find the time to finish 3 challenges, but I liked how they turned out.  For those of you who don't know, along with having to follow a certain criteria for the card, you also have a 45 minute time limit.  The time limit was tough!  I worked on most of my cards while Aurora was awake and of course was constantly interrupted.  I also have never given myself a time limit to create before and was rushing at the end of my Alice in Wonderland card.  I want to go back and edit it a bit now.  I have already taken off the Cheshire Cat because I didn't think he fit well with all the other NON Disney stamps. (I don't have a picture of the card with him removed, but use your imagination and let me know what you think) The Wonderland card was for the "Your My Obsession" challenge.

The next card I made was Clover.  The challenge was "One True Love", to make a monochromatic card.  I think this one turned out really well, and yes those are real 4 leaf clovers that my mother in law found and dried.  She will be getting them back on this card for her birthday, St. Patrick's Day.

My last challenge to complete was "Wee bit of Love".  On this challenges you were supposed to use three or more inchies.  Inchies are 1x1 inch squares that you stamp on/decorate/etc.  These little Unity cupcakes fit perfectly and turned out to be a great match.  I have never used inchies before, so it was fun to try something new.

There were SOOOO many great cards made by the ladies on SCS that I don't envy the judges who have to pick winners.  If you would like to catch a peek, go to THIS THREAD!  Kris had a great idea to have everyone post their favorite card there, instead of trying to view every single card.  (If you have the time, there is tons of inspiration to be seen)

Another challenge! (this is my second post for day)

limeLIGHT papercrafts is sponsoring the challenge on Dutch Dare Card Challenge (that's how I heard about it).   You are supposed to create a LOVE themed card, without using RED or PINK.
Yesterday I got my first set of Nestabilies in the mail! WOO HOO!  It was the Classic Scalloped Circles Large, so of course I wanted to play with them!  I also saw a cute felt bunny in a store downtown that inspired me to make this card.

I used a basic white base again, then cut some scalloped circles out of Cosmo Cricket Mr Campy : Nature Walk and Want S'more?  The inner circle  from an old Disney's Bambi record book (my daughter's friend ripped it, so I saved it to use for paper projects).

The bunny is from Sassafras Lass, along with the yellow paper I stamped it on.  Ribbon is Joann's, a prima flower and an old button finish off the embellishments.

Inside I used my nestabilities with Honey CTMH ink, a Cosmo Cricket Bee stamp, and a sharpie.  :)

limeLight Challenge time

I decided to try the limeLIGHT papercrafts challenge again this week.  If you want to see the sketch and official challenge go to their blog post HERE!  The requirement this week was to use pink BLING! I decided to use their sketch and bling challenge to make my husband's Valentine's Day card.  One of his favorite colors is Magenta, so I went with that for my shade of pink.

I used a basic pre-made white card base and then some Studio G clear valentines sentiments to make the background.  The love stamp is from Unity's Be Owl Mine set again.  I didn't have a chipboard 2, so I made my own out for some cardboard I had laying around and then covered it with sassafras lass sunshine lollipops paper and distressed it a bit.  The you chipboard is K&Company, but it was green, so I covered it with Studio G glitter glue.  I also used that glitter glue on the stamped hearts on word love.  The pink gems are from Michales but I don't remember the exact brand.

Thanks for looking, hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Candy Cans! (get it??) ;)

Just a quick post, then off to stamp some more!  It was killing me that I either have time to stamp or time to blog, but not both.  So here is a quick look at what I have been up to.  These little cans will be filled with some yummy candy and then they are off to California for my two favorite kids (other than my own!) :)

I used Unity stamps, Cuter than Most, Mix up of Cuteness, Cupcakes a la Yummy, and Be owl Mine.  The yellow paper with suns is Cosmo Cricket and the other paper is from the Target Fall Dollar Spot and then I ran it in my Cuttlebug for the texture.
